Book Review: Stamped

Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi is remarkably funny, considering the seriousness of the subject, as it reveals the path of racism from 1415 in Europe to present day United States.

You’ll never think of Tarzan or Planet of the Apes the same way. It provides a much more nuanced view of Thomas Jefferson and Abe Lincoln than you learned in school. Same with WEB du Bois and Booker T. Washington.

And most important, the authors unpack the differences between Segregationists, Assimilationists and Antiracists. I found this helpful in examining my own tendencies and what I needed to do to be a better ally.
